There’s nothing quite like enjoying a cold brew or some fresh seafood at a dockside tiki bar after a day of paddling. It’s even better when that spot is out in the boonies, away from civilization, and the waitstaff doesn’t care if you’re a little sweaty, if your butt is still wet, or if you’re a little crusty from sunscreen and saltwater.

Delmarva doesn’t exactly have any lengthy trails to do any serious, overnight backpacking trips. But if you’re looking for something with the same level of adventure, there are several kayak-camping opportunities across the peninsula.

If you’re planning an epic road trip, Delaware probably doesn’t even come to mind, considering it’s the second smallest state in the country. For anyone traveling up and down the eastern seaboard, Delaware is just a blip on the GPS. But tucked away to the east of I-95 and US-13, is an entire day’s - or several days - worth of adventuring, packed with scenic boardwalk trails and secluded beaches. This is the Delaware Bayshore.
