Great mix of pond and forested habitats, and excellent wildlife viewing. The most fascinating part of the hike is the giant sand dune. There are several trailheads to the property, but the one listed above is the closest to the dune. According to DNR, this area features a complex of streams and 10,000-year-old sand ridges formed during the Pleistocene Epoch, which represent the northernmost deposits of their kind on the Delmarva Peninsula and support a diverse assortment of plants and animals.
